BAND
Dear Ryan Band Student/Parent:
Thanks to all the folks who switched from Thursday to Wednesday for Full Band. We had a much better balance this week. I was impressed by how well everyone did playing together, and how well we did playing "by ear".

PAC
Dear Ryan School Families, This week we were able to submit 8,303 (which is $830.30)! Keep sending Box Tops in for the competition between the 5th and 6th grade for extra recess. The 5th grade is a little ahead at this point.

If you child is interested in participating in the Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF please send in change or money as soon as possible. The money raised helps UNICEF provide countless children around the world with medicine, nutrition, clean water, emergency relied and education.

On-Going- Box Tops Contest


ALTITUDE TRAMPOLINE PARK
Looking for something to do on your day off? Join your friends at Altitude Trampoline Park and have some fun while raising some money for your school. It is located at 700 Boston Road in Billerica. Please mention that you are supporting the Ryan School PAC and 15% of sales will go towards our efforts. No flyer needed but I attached one. You do not need to be a Ryan student or family to participate. All are welcome!! A waiver is required to participate. The easiest way to fill one out is by going to their website www.AltitudeParkMA.com or at kiosk on site. Once filled out, it remains in their system for one year.

RYAN SCHOOL APPAREL SALE
We are selling Ryan School Sweatshirts, T-shirts and Pajama bottoms. Notices are going home this week and it is attached. The sale ends and forms are due on Tuesday, November 15th. Pick-up will be on December 13th from 3:30-6:30pm in the school lobby or sent home in backpacks. These make great holiday gifts!!

PIE/ COOKIE/ TUMBLER- FALL FUNDRAISER
Thank you to everyone that participated!! If you purchased items they must be picked up on November 17th from 3:30pm-7pm at the Ryan School Cafeteria. If you did not participate in the fundraiser but would like to make a donation to support the PAC this year- I have attached the form. If you have any questions please email:ryanschoolpac@gmail.com.

BOX TOP CONTEST
Collect Box Tops and participate in a friendly competition between 5th and 6th grade for extra recess!!

This is how it works:
1. Collect Box Tops
2. Parent/ Guardians- Send to school with slip (attached below). Can send multiple times.
3. Students- Bring to office and put in bin marked Box Tops.
4. The PAC will transfer4 to containers in cafeteria.
5. First grade to fill container- EXTRA RECESS!!

STOP AND SHOP
Welcome back to the start of a new school year and to a new year of A+ School Rewards!
Beginning October ­­7, 2016, John F Ryan School- ID 40094 has the opportunity to participate in and earn CASH from A+ School Rewards, a great fundraising program run through your local Stop & Shop!  PLEASE NOTE:  
You DO NOT need to re-register your card if your school selection(s) remains the same as last year. You may support up to two schools- participating schools are Dewing, North Street and Ryan Schools.
To participate:
Visit www.stopandshop.com/aplus and scroll down to the center of the page to select REGISTER YOUR CARD from the red box on the right marked FOR CUSTOMERS; or,
Call the A+ School Rewards Hotline at 1-877-275-2758 for assistance; or,
Email the A+ Hotline.  Please include the last name associated with your Stop & Shop Card, your 13-digit Stop & Shop Card number and our school name and school ID number* of our school (or the name, city and state in which the school is located) to: askaplus@cranecommunications.c om.     
* If you are supporting more than one (1) school, please include the ID numbers for both schools (or the names, cities and states of your schools).
 
To earn points
Use your registered Stop & Shop Card each time you shop at Stop & Shop, and you will earn CASH for our school. You can track the number of points you are earning for our school by checking your grocery receipt.
At the end of each month, your points are calculated and converted to CASH rewards for our school. These CASH rewards are updated monthly on the Stop& Shop A+ website beginning in November.
After the last day of the 2017 program, which is March 17, these same conversions are performed and the final school account total is posted. 
Our school will receive one CASH awards check at the end of the program and can use this cash for any of our educational needs Also, please encourage your family members and friends to support our school.  This could result in more CASH REWARDS! Thank you for your support of this program!


RECYLE THAT
Donate your unwanted books and clothing now in our purple and yellow bin at school! The bin will accept books, DVDs, used clothing in any condition, linens and clothing accessories. Good condition items are repurposed and resold, lesser condition items are turned into industrial rags and filling material. Please no encyclopedias or college text books. Lets earn money for our school and keep these items out of landfills!

Recycle That BinsYELLOW and PURPLE  bins –UPDATE Did you know that you can donate ripped, stained and worn out linens and clothing in our bins? Grab all of those socks with holes and put them in a bag and place them in the YELLOW AND PURPLE bins at school. The fabric is shredded and made into industrial rags, and our schools get the money!

INK RECYCLING PROGRAM                                                                                                                                      
The Ryan School participates in an ink recycling  program. Bring in your used ink jets, laser toner cartridges, and used cell  phones ( in a zippered bag) and the Ryan will recycle them. Proceeds will fund art and enrichment programming at our school! Save the earth and help  the school!
 
PAPER RETRIEVER                                                                                                                                                    
The Ryan School has two Paper Retriever bins.  Bring your newspapers, office paper and catalogs to be recycled. We receive money for this paper and the proceeds go directly to the Ryan School arts and enrichment programming.  Please no phone books.

Paper RetrieverYELLOW AND GREEN  Bins-UPDATE These bins now accept FLATTENED CARDBOARD.  Please do not put any paper in plastic bags. Save it in PAPER bags and bring to the YELLOW AND GREEN bins at school and our schools get the money!
 
AMAZON                                                                                                                                                                    
Amazon has a shopping program that benefits non-profits and the Ryan School PAC is now registered. It's called Amazon Smile and will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products to our PAC. If you shop on Amazon.com, go to smile.amazon.com to designate the "John Ryan School Pac" as your school. Another great way to earn FREE money for our school and kids!

TREATS FOR TROOPS
There will be a donation bin set up at Town Hall from November 1st-4th to collect excess Halloween candy. Town Hall hours are Monday through Friday8am-5pm. All candy will be donated to the Veterans Northeast Outreach Center in Haverhill (http://www.northeastveterans.org). TEWKSBURY EDUCATION FOUNDATION 5th ANNUAL SILENT AND LIVE AUCTION
November 18, 2016 @ 7 PM

The Tewksbury Education Foundation's mission is dedicated to enhancing the quality of life in our school communities. The Ryan School has benefitted greatly in the past four years through the  generosity of the Tewksbury community who have donated to and attended the TEF auction.
Here are just a few items that the Ryan School has received from this great event:
