SCHEDULE AND EVENTS FOR WEEK ENDING JUNE 3

PAC



Dear Ryan School Families, I hope that everyone had a nice long weekend. I am also attaching the last treasurer report from Lynette Montejo-thanks!!!

The Ryan library will need help with inventory the week of June 6. Anyone willing to give a few hours please contact Paige Impink pfimpink@comcast.net.

Box Tops- The goal is to raise $2000 in Box Tops (Yes that is 20,000 Box Tops that need to be collected from Ryan Students and Families). If this is accomplished by the beginning of June then all students will have a chance to tape Assistant Principal Mr. Hart to a wall!!! Start collecting and turning them in!! We have only collected 2,500 so start sending them in. We will be determining what fun activity we will be doing for Box Tops collection!!

CAREER DAY
The John F. Ryan School, with the help of the Ryan PAC, is planning our tenth annual Career Day on Friday, June 3rd. The purpose of this endeavor is to make our students aware of the variety of careers available to them. 

Speakers will meet with students for approximately 10-15 minutes each.  Speakers will be scheduled between 9:00 and 10:00 AM.  More details regarding the schedule will follow.  Please note: We will do everything possible to accommodate all of our volunteers.

SPINNER'S TICKETS
The Ryan/ Wynn/ Heath Brook/ Trahan would like to invite you to the Lowell Spinner Game on Sunday, June 26th at 5pm. The game is at LeLacheur Park at 450 Aiken Street in Lowell. The cost per ticket is $8. This is not a fundraiser- we are purchasing block of tickets and selling them for the same price. We have a limited number of tickets therefore, orders will be filled on a first come-first serve basis. Please return the form (sent home in backpack and attached). Any questions contact Jenn Griffin 978-863-0219 or jenngrif3@gmail.com. Deadline: June 8th. Tickets will be issued after all orders are received.

RECYLE THAT
Donate your unwanted books and clothing now in our purple and yellow bin at school! The bin will accept books, DVDs, used clothing in any condition, linens and clothing accessories. Good condition items are repurposed and resold, lesser condition items are turned into industrial rags and filling material. Please no encyclopedias or college text books. Lets earn money for our school and keep these items out of landfills!

INK RECYCLING PROGRAM                                                                                                                                  
The Ryan School participates in an ink recycling  program. Bring in your used ink jets, laser toner cartridges, and used cell  phones ( in a zippered bag) and the Ryan will recycle them. Proceeds will fund art and enrichment programming at our school! Save the earth and help  the school!

PAPER RETRIEVER                                                                                                                                                    
The Ryan School has two Paper Retriever bins.  Bring your newspapers, office paper and catalogs to be recycled. We receive money for this paper and the proceeds go directly to the Ryan School arts and enrichment programming.  Please no plastic bags or phone books

Amazon has a shopping program that benefits non-profits and the Ryan School PAC is now registered. It's called Amazon Smile and will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products to our PAC. If you shop on Amazon.com, go to smile.amazon.com to designate the "John Ryan School Pac" as your school. Another great way to earn FREE money for our school and kids!

SCHEDULE AND EVENTS FOR WEEK ENDING MAY 20

BAND


Our Band Day concert is just one week from today!  Lots of important info, so please read all the way through.
Thursday, May 19 - Mandatory Rehearsal at 1:37 (Tentative)
As I mentioned last week in rehearsal, I am hoping to have a dress rehearsal for the entire band on Thursday at 1:37. I still have to confirm this time with other teachers, so listen for announcements and watch for an email confirming this in the next day or two.
We will still have our regular after school rehearsals on Wednesday and Thursday as well.

The band is not involved in this, but lots of band members are. And it sounds like it's going to be a great show! It's at the Wynn Friday at 7:00 and Saturday at 2:00 and 7:00. Go!
Sunday, May 22 - Music Day
Our concert is at the Wynn Auditorium at 2:00 PM.
  • Call time is 1:15 for Band members.
  • Dress Code: Black and white. (Black pants or long skirt, shoes and socks; white collared shirt or blouse.) Or Sunday best.
  • Folding Stands: If you have a folding stand, please bring it on Sunday. We may not need it, but we may.

Sorry for the short notice, but I would like to have a rehearsal for all 5th Grade Band members on Thursday at 1:37. I didn't think I would need it, but I have seen very few students the last two weeks because of all the testing.

Normally I'd ask for two blocks, but I think I can fit everything into just the last block of the day on Thursday.

Please let me know if this will be a problem.
