KINDNESS CLUB





A Kindness Club’s update.  Our Field trip to the Fire Department is This Thursday March 30th.  Please make sure your permission slips are in to Mrs. Hillson or Mrs. Curley.  All baked goods are to be brought to Mrs. Curley’s Room Thursday morning during homeroom.  It is not too late to sign up to bake or buy something, check out your Google docs account to add your name and what you will be making.  If your item contains nuts/tree nuts please just put a note on the top.  Thank you again for all your great cards and participating in baking treats. They are going to be so excited.
Our next meeting will be Thursday April 13, 2017 at 2:30 in Mrs. Curley’s room.  
Remember one random act of kindness from all of us could change the world.

Rockin' the Blues is coming together nicely, and we're making some good progress on Bavarian Folk Dance. We'll take a look at Round for Band this week, too.

COMMUNITY EVENTS
The Harlem Wizards are coming to Tewksbury High School, Saturday, April 8 at 7p.m.  At a Wizards game, fans will witness amazing basketball talent as demonstrated by a magical display of tricks, coordinated ball handling, fancy passing and aerodynamic athleticism combined with high-energy comedy and audience interaction.  Last year, over 900 fans were in attendance. Tickets for the Harlem Wizards are on sale with limited Courtside Plus and Reserved Seating still available. Tickets are $40 for Courtside Plus, $25 for Reserved Seating and $10 General Admission. All seating options will allow for on court pictures and autographs with the Wizards after the game. Tickets can be purchased at http://www. tewksburyhabitatbuild.org/ harlem-wizards-event or with cash at Schlott Tire located at 530 Main Street.

Dear Ryan School Families, Thank you to everyone that came to the ice cream social. I would like to thank Lori Carriere for all her hard work planning the ice cream social. I would also like to thank Maureen Castiglione and Kim Trodden for running a great book fair.

We are in need of a Chair, Secretary and Treasurer to lead the PAC next year. It is a great opportunity to help out the school and not a huge time commitment. I am attaching the nomination forms but please feel to reach out to me if you are interested and want more details!!

SCHEDULE AND EVENTS FOR WEEK ENDING MARCH 24

MARCH MADNESS TYPING TOURNAMENT

Ms. Richard is conducting a March Madness Typing Tournament with the 5th graders (hence the title of the email!).  Each student will complete a 1-minute on the website linked below.  This site will score the words per minute, taking a 5 word penalty for each uncorrected error.  Students can then print out a certificate to verify their actual speed.

Dear Ryan Band Member:

I hope you enjoyed our Music Day concert last weekend. Please feel free to share any thoughts about it - format, location, timing, etc. Miss Ware and I are working to create great concert experiences for performers and audience, and we'd love your feedback.

Looking Ahead to MCAS Week
The Ryan School will be taking the MCAS the first week in April. During that week, the 6th grade will be taking it on Tuesday and the 5th Grade on Thursday. So that week, we will switch our Tuesday and Thursday lessons. So if you have your lessons during the school day on Thursday, that week it will be on Tuesday

Rehearsal will still be on Wednesday and Thursday. Late Lessons will still be on Tuesday and WednesdayWednesday lessons will remain the same.

Note: This is for the first week in April, NOT THIS WEEK.

The Kindness Club’s next outreach project is collecting donations for MSPCA at Nevins Farm in Methuen.  We are asking students to donate items such as; treats, toys, dog/cat food, food bowls, beds, sweaters, collars, or towels.  If you wish to participate Please send in any items by April 13th.  Drop off bins are located in Mrs. Curley’s, Ms. Nelson’s, Mrs. Hillson’s, Mrs. Davis’s and Mrs. Bruff’s room.
Our next meeting will be Thursday April 13, 2017 at 2:30 in Mrs. Curley’s room.  It is not too late to join please see the Mrs. Curley for a permission slip.  Remember one random act of kindness from all of us could change the world.

The Ryan School PAC is excited to share our 4th Annual Calendar Raffle fundraising opportunity with you. We are pleased to report that the profits from last year's raffle enabled us to purchase HP Streams for some of the classrooms but we would like the opportunity to purchase more!!  The information and raffle tickets are attached.

ICE CREAM SOCIAL

The ice cream social is on Friday, March 24th from 6-8pm. Come enjoy an ice cream for $2 with many toppings. Participate in the camping story time, shop at the book fair or buy a raffle ticket. This is not a drop off event. We are in need of volunteers for this event.
