BAND

This Week - Full Band During the Day; No Full Band After School
On Wednesday and Thursday, I have to leave at 2:30 to go to New Haven for rehearsal and performance with the Worcester Chorus and New Haven Symphony Orchestra. Since the schedule is already messed up by PARCC testing, I figured I'd throw in a Full Band rehearsal to the mix.

BIRTHDAY BOOK PROGRAM- 2016 LIBRARY BOOK DRIVE
During the months of March and April we will be collecting books for our library to replace many of the "well-loved" books and to add to the  more popular collections. I am attaching the donation sheet. We have patched, taped and tossed a lot of books over the years and sadly haven't been able to replace them. The birthday book program is a great way to honor your child's birthday by donating a book in their name. There are many ways to donate but we are asking for hardcover books:
  • Use the requested list on SignUpGenius. The link is:https://www.signupgenius.com/go/30e094eaeab22a75-ryan1  Pick a book and sign-up so that it gets taken off the list (to avoid duplication). Purchase at any place that you like (Amazon, Barnes & Noble, etc.) and fill in the sheet on the back of this notice and send to school with the purchased book. If you use Amazon don’t forget to use smile.amazon.comand choose the Ryan School and a percentage of your purchase will be donated to the school.
  • Purchase a requested book at our Book Fair held during the week ofMarch 14th-18th (it will be open during the Ice Cream Social on 3/18). There will be a selection of books there that are needed for our library.
  • Make a monetary donation to purchase some needed books (even if it is not enough to purchase a hardcover book- it is still greatly appreciated and your child will be honored). Send donation to school in an envelope labeled PAC Birthday Book Club along with the sheet on the back with monetary donation checked off. Make checks out to the Ryan School PAC.
  • Book & monetary donations, with the completed form, can bedropped in the Birthday Book Bin in the Ryan School library
RECYCLE THAT
Donate your unwanted books and clothing now in our purple and yellow bin at school! The bin will accept books, DVDs, used clothing in any condition, linens and clothing accessories. Good condition items are repurposed and resold, lesser condition items are turned into industrial rags and filling material. Please no encyclopedias or college text books. Lets earn money for our school and keep these items out of landfills!

INK RECYCLING PROGRAM
The Ryan School participates in an ink recycling  program. Bring in your used ink jets, laser toner cartridges, and used cell  phones ( in a zippered bag) and the Ryan will recycle them. Proceeds will fund art and enrichment programming at our school! Save the earth and help  the school!

PAPER RETRIEVER
The Ryan School has two Paper Retriever bins.  Bring your newspapers, office paper and catalogs to be recycled. We receive money for this paper and the proceeds go directly to the Ryan School arts and enrichment programming.  Please no plastic bags or phone books

AMAZON
Amazon has a shopping program that benefits non-profits and the Ryan School PAC is now registered. It's called Amazon Smile and will donate 0.5% of the purchase price of eligible products to our PAC. If you shop on Amazon.com, go to smile.amazon.com to designate the "John Ryan School Pac" as your school. Another great way to earn FREE money for our school and kids!
