I hope you all enjoy the long weekend, and I hope you're ready to impress your classmates Tuesday morning! Not to mention your parents on Thursday night.

Tuesday Morning Concert
  • Dress code is: casual neat. Clean, unripped clothes with no big logos or drawings on them. 
  • Call Time: Come to the Band Room right after Homeroom to get set up and warmed up.

Tuesday After School
Assuming we do well at Tuesday's concert, we will not have Full Band after school on Tuesday. Based on this past week's rehearsal, that's not a guarantee, however. I will let students know - and email parents - right after the concert (before 11:00 AM).

Mr. Aquilina will be absent this week, so no Late Lessons.

Thursday Night Concert
  • Dress code is: Black and White.
  • Call Time: 6:30 PM at the Wynn Middle School, for a 7:00 Concert. 
  • Concert Order: Same as above
Other Important Dates
  • Tuesday, June 6 - No Band
  • Wednesday, June 7 and/or Thursday, June 8 - You may join 5th Grade Rehearsal for Instrument Switch Day 
  • Friday, June 9 - Half Day - lessons (or perhaps a rehearsal blocks 3 and 4)

SKEWER'S DINEOUT NIGHT
Take your family out to dinner at Skewer's and 15% of your order will be donated to the Ryan School PAC on Tuesday, May 30th and Wednesday, May 31st from 4-9pm. Please bring the attached notice. Dine-In and Take-Out Count! Skewer's Wood Grill is located at 1060 Main Street in Tewksbury.

BOX TOPS CONTEST
Collect Box Tops and participate in a friendly competition between 5th and 6th grade for extra recess!!

This is how it works:
1. Collect Box Tops
2. Parent/ Guardians- Send to school with slip (attached below). Can send multiple times.
3. Students- Bring to office and put in bin marked Box Tops.
4. The PAC will transfer to containers in cafeteria.
5. First grade by June 2nd to have the most- EXTRA RECESS!!

SPINNER'S TICKETS
The Ryan/ Wynn/ Heath Brook/ Trahan would like to invite you to the Lowell Spinner Game on Monday, 26th at 6:35pm. The game is at LeLacheur Park at 450 Aiken Street in Lowell. The cost per ticket is $8. This is not a fundraiser- we are purchasing block of tickets and selling them for the same price. We have a limited number of tickets therefore, orders will be filled on a first come-first serve basis. Please return the form (sent home in backpack and attached). Any questions contact Jenn Griffin 978-863-0219 or jenngrif3@gmail.com. Deadline: June 5th. Tickets will be issued after all orders are received.

CAREER DAY- NOT TOO LATE (SEND IN ON MONDAY OR TUESDAY)- NEED MORE PRESENTERS!!!
The John F. Ryan School, with the help of the Ryan PAC, is planning our eleventh annual Career Day on Friday, May 19th. The purpose of this endeavor is to make our students aware of the variety of careers available to them. If you or a family member is interested in coming to the Ryan School to speak to the students about your occupation, please complete the form below (also sent home in backpacks) and have your child return it to his/her homeroom teacher by Friday, May 5th. (Send in Monday or Tuesday)
 
Speakers will meet with students for approximately 10-15 minutes each.  Speakers will be scheduled between 9:00 and 10:00 AM.  More details regarding the schedule will follow.  Please note: We will do everything possible to accommodate all of our volunteers. 
 
We are excited about having Career Day and we thank you in advance for your support in assisting us with this project. If you have any questions or need more information, please contact Karla Branchaud@verizon.net.

MAY PAC MEETING
The last PAC Meeting of the year will be this Wednesday, May 10th at 6:30pm in the Ryan School Library. We will be nominating next year's board along with discussing all the year-end events. I am attaching the agenda.

FLOWER SALE
Why not show your appreciation with a flower for your favorite Ryan teacher/ staff member! This event will take place on Monday, May 15th during lunch. The cost is $1 a flower. Students may purchase a flower for teachers, aides, specialists, secretaries, cafeteria staff, custodial staff, and/or administration. Please fill out the slips ahead of time (attached and being sent home this week) and bring them with you to lunch on Monday, May 15th along with your money.

STAFF APPRECIATION LUNCHEON
