BAND

Dear Wind Ensemble Member:

We took a look at James River Journey last week. It's a bit easier than our other two pieces, but it looks like it will prove a nice challenge nonetheless. I'll hand out parts on Tuesday.

Reminder: Sign Up in the Morning for the Late Bus

If you're taking the late bus home after Full Band, you MUST sign up in the morning. Last year, there was some flexibility if you forgot. But a lot more kids are using the late bus this year, so you must sign up in the morning so the bus driver can plan out the route.

Full Band rehearsals start this week after school! This is where we get to put all of the instruments together and sound like a band!

Here are some important questions and answers:

When? - Wednesday OR Thursday (your choice) from 2:30-3:30.

Where? - The cafeteria. 

Where do I get picked up afterwards? - In front of the school.

Can I take the Late Bus home? - Yes. You must SIGN UP DURING HOMEROOM. The bus drivers need time to plan out the route, so you have to sign up in the morning.

Can I leave my instrument in the Band Room? - Yes. You may bring it to the Band Room in the morning. You may also leave it there after your lesson. You may even leave it there overnight if you have a lesson and a rehearsal on different days. Please don't leave your instrument in the cafeteria or on the stage.

Do I still have to go to my lesson? - Of course! Your lesson is where you learn how to play your instrument and earn stickers. Full Band is where we learn how to play together.

This is our biggest fundraiser of the school year so it would be great if you could support the PAC which provides funds for Arts and Enrichment and Requests such as Technology thought-out the school year. We have 2 great companies that we are working with: Mixed Bag Designs and Otis Spunkmeyer Cookies or just make a donation (I am attaching the donation sheet and was sent home). Please contact your family and friends (please no door-to-door selling)!! The fundraiser ends on October 10th. Fill in the order forms and send back to school. Please make checks payable to: Ryan School PAC (if you are ordering from both catalogs only one check is necessary) and do not collect tax.
