NEWS, EVENTS, AND SCHEDLUE FOR WEEK ENDING OCTOBER 21

BAND

Dear Ryan Band Student:
FULL BAND REHEARSALS start this week! Here's what you need to know:
  • Rehearsals are Wednesday and Thursday from 2:30-3:30 in the Cafeteria.
  • You are expected to go to one rehearsal a week. You may choose whichever day you prefer. (You may come to both days if you want, but it is not expected.)
  • You will need to get picked up at 3:30. Parents should pick students up at the front of the school.
  • Extended Day students should sign in at Extended Day first, then come to Band.
  • Full Band is different from After School Lessons. If you have After School Lessons with Mr. Aquilina, you are also expected to attend Full Band.
  • There is no charge for Full Band.
MAKE-UP LESSONS
Starting this week, there will be a block available for Make-Up Lessons. This is if you can't come to your scheduled lesson, or if you just want to play some extra sticker songs. You must get your teacher's permission first, of course.

PAC

Dear Ryan School Families, I hope that everyone had a great weekend!

From the Art Teacher, Mrs.Lane:
Our 6th Grade students will be doing a recycled art project during October and part of November. I have asked them to bring in any small recyclable materials they might be throwing out. Some examples are small action figures(school appropriate), small wooden pieces, odd bottle caps, old keys etc. All I ask is that they not be larger than 5" x 5" so that they can fit on the base. These things will add a lot of interest to their projects. We also need toilet paper and paper towel tubes for the 5th and 6th grade classes.

HELP NEEDED
Looking for a 5th grade parent or a parent with a child that is going to be at the Ryan next year or years to come (with younger children) that would be interested in co-chairing a position for Arts and Enrichment this year that would take over the responsibility next year. Let me know if you have interested. This is an important role for the PAC but with limited time constraints.
